Channels Introduction
An introduction to the channels
A channel is by default a bidirectional audio partyline which includes all users with non-disabled permissions. Each channel has an audio input and an audio output, with the audio input being your microhpone, and the output being your headphones or speakers. Each channel can have an independent volumne level and mute settings.
The colours of a channel on a panel will indicate its current state, grey for disabled, green for listening, amber for activity and red for actively talking into the channel.
When configuring channels and roles, each channel can have its own permissions per role which are as follows:
- White for duplex (talk and listen)
- Green for listen only
- Red for talk only
- Empty/Outline for disabled
When clicking the users symbol on a channel you can see an active list of users, who is talking into the channel and their permissions for that channel denoted by the microphone, headphone or headset icons next to their name.
If you are the creator of an intercom, you also have the ability to ‘unlatch’ users who accidentally leave themselves with a talk active on a channel.
